Latest...... We almost got our first whitewash victory of the season in the away match at Wallsend on Sunday 25 July, which finished 11-1 in our favour with the only game being halved when we were two up with two to play in the top game. All of the other matches finished with victory for the Seasiders ! Well done everyone!

PGA Pro Peter Crosby has agreed to take our team squad for additional coaching sessions starting this Saturday at 3.30pm leaving enough time for you to warm up before the Saturday medal at 5pm. The cost is £2.50 and I would appeal for you all to try to attend these sessions as not only will they be of benefit to your golf development by ironing out any problems in your game, they will also help Peter to assess how we can take forward the Junior Coaching Programme as a whole. A good turn out would ensure that these sessions continue on a weekly basis. Please give it your best shot to be there!

A big vote of thanks to member Alan Anderson who has very kindly sponsored the new Nike Junior windproof tops, all badged up with "Junior Team player" and the club emblem. A very generous gesture and with Peter' Crosby's sponsored Nike turtle neck polo shirts underneath, we look the part on the course.

We have a newly constituted junior Support Committee which consists of the Junior Captain, Tom and Vice Captain, Hannah, Committee member Ian Meikle and his wife Christine who is on the Ladies Committee, Junior Girls Rep Judith Hewison, Claire Crosby from the PGA shop, Ben Christensen from Greenkeepers and Tony Crosby.

We are meeting on a regular basis and are having plenty of "thought showers" as we seek to build a successful Junior Section at Whitley Bay GC. Look out here and on the noticeboard for ideas and new competitions. we have some exciting times ahead.
